New Brighton -Not the Last Resort

In July 2026 I visited New Brighton on The Wirral to see what it was like 40 years after Martin Parr made the pictures that became his controversial ‘Last Resort’ photography book. Today far from the shabby working class day out resort is now developing a very creative arty cafe culture struggling to escape the old resort cliche. This is the way I saw New Brighton today…………but go see for yourself, they are very welcoming!
